Scottish drinks company selected for ASDA Supplier Development Programme

Scottish drinks company, VC2 Brands, has recently been selected for ASDA’s Supplier Development Programme as part of a partnership with Scotland Food and Drink. VC2 is one of ten companies which has been signed up to the nine-month programme that aims to help generate millions of pounds worth of sales for Scottish brands through their listings in ASDA. The programme will help the companies gain industry expertise and develop a long-term trading relationship with ASDA. The programme comprises of a number of seminars, each focussing on different topics such as product development, marketing and maximising sales. The first seminar in January included a briefing from ASDA on its strategy in Scotland and how it plans to work with suppliers on new products. Graham Coull, VC2’s co-founder said: “As an ambitious Scottish business this support is invaluable and will help us develop our grocery distribution into new geographical areas and take our business to the next level”. Paul McLaughlin, chief executive of Scotland Food and Drink added: “The supplier development programme offers members valuable insight into the workings of a major multiple and can help secure profitable listings.
