Loch Fyne Oysters has selected three winners of their “Finn the Loch Fyne Fish” competition from schools across Scotland. Scott Parker (aged 8) from Stenhousemuir Primary School, Suzanne Gillies (aged 7) from Castlehill Primary School and Emma Carragher (aged 8) from Kelvindale Primary School were selected for their designs of “Finn the Loch Fyne Fish.” These designs will now feature as a restaurant placemat exclusively for the world-renowned Oyster Bar in Cairndow. They also received a hamper filled with presents and £150 for their school. Scott said “I felt really proud that I’d won and have been asked to think about how the money could be spent. I would like to spend it on something the whole school could benefit from, maybe some fancy animal recycling bins or some playground games. I really enjoyed doing the competition as it tied in really well with everything we’d been learning about seashore animals and marine conservation. I’d like to thank Loch Fyne Oysters for the great hamper they gave me.” Loch Fyne Oysters “Finn the Fish” competition supports the Scottish Government initiative “Eat more Fish” and now children visiting the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar can see the winning children’s Finn the Fish placemats. Scott Parker, Emma Carragher and Suzanne Gillies, placemats are available now for all children visiting Loch Fyne Oyster Bar in Cairndow. Quotes Mrs Reid, Head Teacher of Stenhousemuir Primary said “I am absolutely delighted at the success of Scott’s creation and how he had managed to raise the profile of the super work the Stenhousemuir pupils are capable of. All the staff can’t wait to head up to the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar and see Scott’s place mat in use and try some of their wonderful fish dishes.” Suzanne Gillies said “I'm proud to have my design on a placemat at the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar.” Suzanne also won £150 for her school and a hamper of presents. Castlehill Head Teacher, Anne Littleson said "We were delighted that Suzanne had won in this national competition and are also very grateful to Loch Fyne Oysters for their gift of £150 to the school. We plan to use the money to fund a visit from "Zoolab". Suzanne and her class will take part in this workshop and get the opportunity to study small animals normally only seen in zoos". Emma Carragher said “I hope it brightens up everybody’s day when they are eating their dinner and looking at my sparkly place mat.” She also won a hamper of goodies to enjoy and £150 for her school. Head Teacher at Kelvindale Primary School, Caroline Darroch said “Everyone at Kelvindale Primary School is proud of Emma’s achievement in winning this competition. We all think her placemat is wonderful.” For more info contact Mia O’Neill T: 01786 435 182 E: mia@denvirmarketing.com Loch Fyne Oysters Ltd – background Loch Fyne started with one inspirational idea – to grow oysters in the clear, fertile waters of Loch Fyne.
