Mawarid Desert Control LLC receives its business license and completes planned incorporation of the new sales and distribution company in Abu Dhabi

Norwegian AgTech company Desert Control has developed a liquid natural clay
(LNC) that restores soil and reduces water usage for agriculture and green
landscapes. The company is now entering the commercial stage in the Middle East
and completes the previously announced incorporation of the new sales and
distribution company Mawarid Desert Control LLC in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
On 15 December 2021, Desert Control and Mawarid Holding Investment announced
entering into a strategic partnership by forming a new jointly owned company,
Mawarid Desert Control LLC ("MDC"). Mawarid Desert Control LLC today received
its official certificate of commercial registration and license as a limited
liability company incorporated in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in UAE.
Through the new company, Desert Control and Mawarid Holding Investment combine
forces to accelerate the adoption of climate-smart ecosystem management enabled
by the competitive advantage and value proposition of Liquid Natural Clay
("LNC") along with Mawarid's global and regional network and substantial
capabilities in the sectors of managing natural resources, forests, landscapes,
and agriculture.
Mawarid Desert Control LLC becomes the driving force for sales and distribution
of Desert Control's Liquid Natural Clay across the Middle East and is Desert
Control's exclusive partner in the UAE. Desert Control Middle East LLC in Abu
Dhabi will operate Desert Control's mobile fleet of clusters in the region and
will supply LNC to Mawarid Desert Control LLC on commercial terms utilizing the
know-how and strengths of the parties to maximize total in-country value
creation.
Mawarid Desert Control LLC (MDC) aims to become a leading provider of
climate-smart agriculture solutions to combat desertification and soil
degradation. MDC will focus on sustainable ecosystem management for agriculture,
forestry, afforestation, and landscaping, to preserve water resources,
strengthen food security, restore biodiversity, and safeguard our environment by
contributing to efficient use of our natural resources.
The new company is, as previously announced, expected to start commercial
operations in Q2 2022.
