Automaker teams up with Designing Spaces for “Spaces of Hope – Project Homeward Bound” as presenting sponsor for wounded Veteran home makeover series

(Pompano Beach, FL – CISION – September 23, 2013) Nissan North America will be featured on the popular home improvement show Designing Spaces™ on Lifetime TV in the final, home reveal episode of the three-part mini-series “Project Homeward Bound” on Friday, September 27th at 7:30 a.m. (ET/PT). Nissan is the presenting sponsor of the military home makeover series.

Project Homeward Bound, airing on Lifetime TV on Wednesday, September 25, Thursday, September 26 and Friday, September 27 at 7:30 a.m. (ET/PT) chronicles the transformation of a run-down home into a dream home for a Jacksonville-based military family. Private First Class Jeff Taylor was wounded in Iraq in a mortar attack. He and his family have lived in a cramped mobile home facing daily struggles until Designing Spaces™ and their valued partners like Nissan teamed up to renovate the house.

Through its charitable efforts, Nissan focuses on touching lives and improving the quality of life in local communities. The company’s programs focus in three main areas including education, the environment and humanitarian aid. For the renovation, Nissan provided a Nissan Titan pick-up truck and Nissan Pathfinder SUV to help move, haul, carry and distribute construction materials during the project.

Nissan also had the honor of escorting the Taylor family to the big reveal of their completely redesigned home in a Nissan NV3500 passenger van.

“Nissan is committed to serving the communities in which our employees and customers live and work. Through our work with ‘Designing Spaces of Hope - Project Homeward Bound,’ were able to thank and assist members of the U.S. Armed Forces,” said Jon Brancheau, Vice President of Marketing at Nissan. “We are grateful to Army PFC Jeffery Taylor for his service and it was a pleasure sharing in the experience of revealing the redesigned home to the Taylor family.”

“We can’t say enough about Nissan’s participation in this inspiring series. Their vehicles were invaluable during the makeover process, and the reveal featuring the Taylor family getting out of the Nissan NV3500 passenger van and seeing their home for the first time will pull at the heart strings,” said Lysa Liemer, Executive VP of Programming and Chief Operating Officer for Designing Spaces™ airing on Lifetime.
