Designing Spaces™ and Purple Heart Homes team up to provide dream home to soldier injured in Iraq, his wife and three kids

(Pompano Beach, FL – CISION – September 20, 2013) Purple Heart Homes will be featured in the “Designing Spaces of Hope - Project Homeward Bound” series airing on Designing Spaces™ on Lifetime TV on Wed. Sept. 25, Thurs. Sept. 26 and Fri. Sept. 27th at 7:30am (ET/PT).

The 3-part series “Project Homeward Bound” will chronicle the step-by-step renovation of a dilapidated foreclosed-on house into a dream home for a wounded war hero and his family.

Purple Heart Homes, a non-profit organization that finds donated foreclosed homes for disabled Purple Heart recipients, assembled an army of volunteers, sponsors and construction crew who donated their time and services to fully renovate the ranch-style home in Jacksonville, Fla. in less than 30 days for Purple Heart veteran PFC Jeffery Taylor, his wife and three children.

Formed in 2008 by Dale Beatty and John Gallina, Purple Heart Homes offers two programs to help veterans with their needs: Veterans Aging in Place Program, which assists elderly veterans and their caregivers, and Veteran Home Ownership. Both programs help wounded veterans reintegrate into their communities with peace of mind.

“We are thrilled that we partnered with Purple Heart Homes for this inspiring series. They truly embody an organization that opens up their hearts to touch the hearts of others in a profound way, by not only providing a house but creating home for the Taylors,” says Lysa Liemer, Executive VP of Programming and Chief Operating Officer of Designing Spaces™ on Lifetime TV.
