Company teams up with Designing Spaces for the “Spaces of Hope – Project Homeward Bound” series to give wounded veteran Jeff Taylor and his family the flooring their house needs

(Pompano Beach, FL – CISION – Sept. 24, 2013) Flooring plays a critical part of any home’s functionality and décor. Tune in to see Shaw Floors on the popular home improvement show Designing Spaces™ airing on Lifetime TV on Wednesday, September 25th at 7:30 a.m. (ET/PT) as the company donates flooring to the Taylor house for the program’s “Project Homeward Bound” series.

Project Homeward Bound, which airs Wed. September 25th, Thurs. September 26th and Fri. September 27th at 7:30 a.m. (ET/PT), chronicles the transformation of a dilapidated foreclosed-on house into a dream home for the Taylor family. Army Private First Class Jeff Taylor was wounded in Iraq in a mortar attack. Since his return, he and his family have lived in a cramped mobile home facing daily struggles until Designing Spaces™ and their valued partners like Shaw — the world’s largest carpet manufacturer and leading flooring provider — teamed up to renovate the house.

Shaw Floors Design Center Manager Tracy Daves, who will be featured in the segment, was on hand at the Jacksonville, Fla. makeover site to discuss the various flooring products chosen for the project. Knowing that a balance of beauty and durability was a major consideration for the Taylor home given the family’s three children, Shaw donated the following flooring styles to the renovation: Cashmere II from the Caress by Shaw® carpet collection; American Restoration from Shaw’s Epic® engineered hardwood collection; and Resort Versailles Tile from Shaw’s Array™ resilient collection.

“On behalf of everyone at Shaw Floors, we’re honored to help a Purple Heart veteran and his family obtain the home of their dreams,” said Daves. “Private First Class Taylor risked his life for our country, and we’re proud to know that our flooring is being used in the home of a true American hero.”

“We’re thrilled that Shaw Floors has been a huge part of this inspiring series. The company’s donation of carpeting and flooring throughout the Taylors’ home is appreciated, and we know the family will enjoy the style and durability offered by Shaw’s products for many years to come”, says Lysa Liemer, Designing Spaces™ on Lifetime Executive VP of Programming and Chief Operating Officer.
