Next Generation of Award-Winning Vigilant® System Offers L-856/L-864 Integrated Design for More Compact, Lightweight Profile Backed by Five-Year Full-Performance Warranty

Las Vegas and Farmingdale, NJ (April 9th, 2013) – Dialight (LSE: DIA.L), the innovative global leader in LED lighting technology, today set a new LED obstruction lighting milestone, unveiling the first all-LED, FAA-certified L-856/L-864 dual red/white integrated high-intensity beacon system.

The new Vigilant® Series system debuted at the 2013 NAB Show in Las Vegas, featuring a a smaller, more compact and lighter-weight flash headed than any other system on the market. The new dual strobe system is the latest addition to Dialight’s award-winning Vigilant® Series high-intensity product line that earned its fourth Pick Hit Award from Radio magazine at the 2011 NAB Show.

“This latest innovation once again clearly demonstrates Dialight’s industry leadership in designing the next generation of solutions to solve difficult aviation obstruction maintenance challenges,” said Roy Burton, Dialight’s Group Chief Executive. “The new red/white integrated system reduces the number of individual units that must be installed on the tower as well as reducing the number of monitoring devices required.”

The high-efficiency system not only reduces the cost of maintenance and the associated safety risks, but also lowers energy consumption and cost. The dual system operates in three modes: day (270,000 candela at 220W), twilight (20,000 candela at 40W) and night (2,000 candela at 40W), plus night-time red (2,000 candela at 30W) with all Wattage levels including the controller. The lower energy load reduces the level of EMI/RFI compared to Xenon systems to minimize communication signal interruption.

Featuring Dialight’s precision, patented community-friendly optics design with little to no light pollution, along with several other mechanical and communications patent-pending technologies, the dual red/white strobe system features a sharp cut-off angle for a neighborhood-friendly solution with maximum aerial visibility. The ruggedized system is designed to perform optimally in harsh environments and at temperatures ranging from -40°F to +131°F. The entire system is compatible with GPS synchronization systems, allowing for multiple unit sync from a single controller.
