A leading North Yorkshire furniture company has reported its best trading figures ever - thanks to its “credit crunch-friendly” stock.

Thirsk-based retailer, Furniture Traders, specialises in selling discount furniture from leading high street names such as Marks & Spencer, Laura Ashley and House of Fraser, but at less than half the price.

And, due to its high quality at low prices policy, Furniture Traders, which is run by husband and wife team Steven and Colette Wilson, has enjoyed a 62 per cent sales increase for this quarter, compared to the same period in 2008.

Former furniture maker Steven, who also travels across Europe sourcing bespoke ranges to stock and sell alongside the high street bands, said: “Our increase in sales in such an unreliable climate is fantastic news.

“It shows how today’s customers still want the same quality they were used to before the crunch, but at affordable and realistic prices.

“Our ethos is to sell the highest quality furniture but at low prices, and it’s this formula, combined with modern technology, that is helping us through the recession.” -

Furniture Traders has just re-launched its website which includes a new virtual store using real time technology, offering its customers the latest Furniture Traders deals and the chance to join its exclusive club, which advises members of special offers and, more importantly, of new lines.

Furniture Traders’ online store is found at www.furniture-traders.co.uk. Furniture Traders also has a large warehouse which is open to the public at Concept Business Court, Thirsk Industrial Park, Thirsk.
