Apetit Plc renews its strategically significant ERP system – Digia Plc as a partner

The food industry company Apetit Plc has chosen the software and service company Digia as its partner for a comprehensive ERP system renewal project. In line with Apetit's strategy, the reform aims to strengthen the joint processes of businesses. The selected solution is based on Microsoft Dynamics 365 technology. The contract includes a delivery project spread over several years and continuous services after deployment.

The Finnish food industry company Apetit has launched a strategically significant ERP system renewal project for the company. In the project, Apetit will introduce a new enterprise resource planning solution to unify the company's business processes and replace the previously used separate SAP and Microsoft Dynamics NAV solutions.

"Our group's ERP system is currently based on two different software, and this does not give the best opportunities to use our resources. A common ERP solution reduces the need to maintain various systems and competence management. We want a system that strengthens our collaborative processes and supports our strategy's implementation", says Susanna Tevä, Apetit Plc's CFO.

Apetit focuses on plant-based food products and is firmly rooted in Finnish primary production. The company has two business areas: Food Solutions and Oilseed Products.

"We can support the implementation of our strategy with the help of ERP only if the system is scalable and adaptable to different situations flexibly. Integration is key here. We can anticipate some needs for change in the coming years, but the overall system must be flexible for a wide range of development needs", Tevä continues.

Advanced ERP enables business development and lays the foundation for growth and competitiveness

The software and service company Digia, selected as a partner in the renewal project, is a well-known and robust supplier of ERP systems. The company has decades of experience in ERP systems in various industries.

"Together with Apetit, we will implement an advanced ERP system that will create a strong foundation for the company's business strategy, the development of new services, and the extensive utilisation of data. Apetit made a prudent choice of technology, ending up with a Microsoft Dynamics 365 solution", says Jarkko Savolainen, Digia Plc's Vice President, D365 Unified Operations.

"The renewal project will enable the efficient utilisation of information throughout the Apetit Group. The new ERP system can control operations and optimise processes more efficiently. Still, it also enables genuine business development and lays the foundation for future competitiveness, growth and development", Savolainen says.

The project has progressed according to plan. The project includes two deployment phases, the first of which will be carried out in the company's other business during 2024 and the second during 2025.
