Arek relies on Digia to maintain central pensions system

DIGIA FORTIFIES ITS POSITION AS A SUPPLIER OF INSURANCE DATA SYSTEMS

Digia will continue to maintain Arek Ltd's Pension Earnings System after the
termination of the original three-year service contract in August. The new
agreement, to remain valid until further notice, entrusts Digia with sole
responsibility for the future development and maintenance of the Arek platform.

The Arek system, which includes earnings information as basis of the pension
formation from all who work in Finland, is used by major Finnish pension
insurance companies and authorised pension providers. A combination of high
usability and cost-efficient service production forms the core of the
maintenance service.

Through the new agreement, Arek entrusts Digia with sole responsibility for the
future development and maintenance of the company's platform. The Arek platform
serves as a basis for the development of new systems and applications,
including the Pension Earnings System. Digia will be in charge of the long-term
development of the platform. The main task is to ensure its high efficiency
with regard to building and maintaining new applications. As a partner with
full responsibility for both development and maintenance, Digia is expected to
safeguard the high service level of Arek's systems.

Digia and Arek are long-term partners. ”We have been pleased with the
cooperation and its results. We trust Digia's strong competence in
ICT-solutions in the insurance industry”, comments Maarit Ekokoski, Unit
Manager of Arek.

"Through long-standing development partnerships, Digia has accumulated a
comprehensive understanding of the insurance industry", says Christian
Lehtinen, in charge of Digia's banking and insurance business. "We are deeply
honoured by this expansion of our cooperation with Arek, which we regard as a
reward for our fruitful partnership. The Earnings System, which is central to
the Finnish pensions system, continues to be in excellent hands."
