DIGIA’S COOPERATION NEGOTIATIONS COMPLETED

Digia Plc has completed the cooperation negotiations it began on 8 March 2011 and has decided to close down its site in Pori. As a result of the negotiations, Digia intends to implement 63 redundancies in Pori. This is less than the maximum of 85 redundancies expected by the company when negotiations began.

During the negotiation period, Digia was able to offer some Pori employees the possibility of transferring to the company’s Rauma site. It was also agreed that some Pori employees could continue working for Digia from its Tampere site, for the duration of the current customer project.

Personnel reductions will take effect between 20 April 2011 and 30 October 2011. It was agreed in the negotiations that, together with its partners, Digia would attempt to support those facing redundancy in their search for new employment.

The company estimates that the support measures and staff reductions will entail a one-off expense of approximately EUR 1,1 million, which will be expensed in the company’s result for the second quarter of 2011.
