DIGIA’S COOPERATION NEGOTIATIONS COMPLETED. THE COMPANY MOVES ON TO REPORT ONLY ONE SEGMENT

Digia Plc. has completed the cooperation negotiations it began on 29 September 2011. In scope of the negotiations were all domestic operations of the company and as a result thereof a total maximum of 67 employees will be laid-off from the sites in Helsinki, Jyväskylä, Oulu and Tampere.

The company estimates that the staff reductions will entail a one-off expense of approximately EUR 0,6 million, which will be expensed in the company’s result for the fourth quarter of 2011. 

The completed cooperation negotiations relate to the company’s aim to adapt its organisation, cost structure, and operations to correspond with the new market situation and to support company’s long term strategic objectives.

In Digia’s renewed organisation the operations will be managed from the perspective of four strategic portfolios. These portfolios are Solutions & Services, Industry Verticals, International Products and New Market Areas, such as Russia.  

In connection with the organization renewal Digia will move on to report only one segment in the future. The renewed reporting will commence as of the beginning of 2012.
