More Enhancements and Free Software Upgrades for the ST ViewScan®
New enhancements will be on display at the upcoming Association of College & Research Libraries conference
NORTHBROOK, IL, March 24, 2011 – ST Imaging (STI), a division of Digital Check Corp., and a leading manufacturer and reseller of digital microfilm scanners, today announced significant enhancements to the camera and free upgrades to the image processing software of its ST ViewScan Film Scanner.
“These changes will improve the user experience with our ST ViewScan,” said Dan Donaldson, director of imaging products at ST Imaging, “not only have we improved the quality of the image produced by the scanner, but our new Target Area Enhancement feature will now allow the user to highlight a portion of the image to apply separate enhancements to that area of the page, such as for a dark photo or damaged area of the page.”
STI’s Target Area Enhancement feature is designed for areas of a scanned image that may be too dark or too light. Without affecting the rest of the document, potentially making copy within the document too light, the specific area can be enhanced improving picture quality and removing other document defects. This complementary upgrade is available from your local dealer and is compatible with all ViewScan devices.
Other recent enhancements to the ST ViewScan include adding additional USB ports to the front of the device. These ports may be used by patrons to save scanned images to a thumb drive while the optional 2nd USB port can be used with USB based authentication systems.
