Digital Vision launches BitPack-HD - Pre-mastering Workstation for HDTV Las Vegas, April 19, 1999 - Digital Vision launches BitPack-HD - the first HDTV off-line pre-mastering system for Electronic Cinema and Broadcast cable & satellite playout applications. BitPack-HD offers a cost-effective path to create HDTV files for ATSC 1080i/720p as well as 1080p/24 formats, using the same fast and intuitive BitPack control environments as for the standard definition version. BitPack-HD is the optimal tool for high quality encoding based on Digital Vision's proprietary, non-chip based MPEG2 engine. It provides excellent picture quality and system flexibility with integrated machine control and automatic frame accurate encoding as well as playback. The powerful Windows NT user interface enables project management, graphical encoding control and quality analyses.
