Germany's Digital Images selects Digital Vision Image Processing Equipment Stockholm, December 14 1999 - Digital Vision announces a major sale to the recently founded digital assets company Digital Images, in Halle, Germany. Included in the sale are two DVNR Image Processing Workstations, three BitPack Pre-mastering Workstations and two AFC film standard converters. Mr. Ernst Borger, CEO at Digital Images, comments, "When selecting image processing equipment for our new facility, we were looking for a product line that would combine high quality, ease of use and future proof technology. Not only did the new products need to meet these important criteria, but we work in many formats including DVD, MPEG2, HD and high- end broadcasting - most products on the market could not handle all of these requirements. Digital Vision offered us a solution - without compromise - for all of our digital productions." The investment in the Digital Vision equipment reflects Digital Images' commitment to delivering the highest quality film images to the growing DVD market in Europe. The Digital Vision equipment will be used for both DVD production and digital archiving. With projected output of over 300 DVD titles annually, Digital Images has quickly become one of the largest DVD studios in Europe. Digital Images' parent company, Kinowelt Medien AG, is the largest independent content owner and license distribution company in Germany. Although Digital Images' primary focus is on DVD production, they are also a leading force in the development of the new "cinema on demand" and "digital cinema" processes. Independent system integrators MCS Media & Communication Systems handled the final design and equipment list for the new facility. The market leading BitPack product range is a complete pre-mastering solution for standard and high definition, video on demand, DVD, digital cinema and digital archiving. It uses Digital Vision's industry standard DVNR noise reducer pre-processor and proprietary encoding engine, to produce MPEG2 elementary, program, and transport streams. Digital Vision's Image Processing Workstation, DVNR, is comprised of a dozen components offering customers the flexibility to purchase the only equipment they need and providing the highest standard in image enhancement, colour correction, compression pre-processing and format conversion. All in real-time for the full range of available formats from 4:2:2 to HiDef.
