Space Applications Centre in India invests in equipment from Digital Vision Stockholm, May 05, 2004 - The State-owned company Space Applications Centre (SAC) in India, has placed an order for Digital Visions transmission pre-proccessor, DVNR 501 BitSaver. The order is comprised of 6 units for pre-processing of video for satellite uplinks. BitSaver is the second generation of transmission pre-processors from Digital Vision. The system allows service and program providers to reduce the bitrate required to transmit broadcast quality television channels over satellite, cable and terrestrial network systems. Space Applications Centre in Ahmedabad, India, conducts space applications research and development. The activities at the center are grouped under satellite communications, remote sensing and meteorological applications, development of communication transponders and remote sensing sensors, and signal image and information processing.
