Dimension acquires company in IT security The IT integrator Dimension is strengthening its position in IT security by acquiring the Swedish company Netstone AB. The acquired company had a turnover of approximately SEK 5 million in 2000. The acquisition includes partnership agreements, a number of customer contracts and personnel. Netstone, founded in 1995, is active in IT security and has a number of major customers primarily in the banking & finance and telecom sectors. It works with leading products for PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), access control and identification solutions from Entrust Inc. By acquiring Netstone, Dimension strengthens its competence in the priority business area of IT security. Included in the acquisition are reseller agreements, a number of customer contracts and personnel, which will help to further broaden Dimension's customer base and range of security solutions. The acquisition will generate goodwill of approximately SEK 1.5 million. "Netstone has a high level of competence in IT security, strong customer relations and a strong product range," says Sven Uthorn, Managing Director of Dimension. "The acquisition complements our efforts in IT security and strengthens our position as a security provider in the Nordic and Baltic market. We are seeing that demand for this type of service is growing constantly and that IT security is a priority area for most of our customers." In the security area, Dimension has implemented a number of installations comprising security analyses, firewalls, VPN, intrusion detection and PKI solutions.
