Dimension acquires specialist in directory services Dimension is acquiring NetAssist International AB, a consulting firm specialized in directory services. The acquisition strengthens Dimension's service offering while at the same time complementing its client and competence base. NetAssist had a turnover of approximately SEK 80 million in 2000, with 40 employees. The purchase price is approximately SEK 14 million. Within the area of networking and data communications, NetAssist's focus is directory services - the service in a network that organizes, lists and administers available resources. One example is employee access to various types of data. NetAssist primarily works with Novell NDS and Microsoft ActiveDirectory (AD), the market's two leading directory services. NetAssist has a strong position among public sector clients, working with a number of Swedish municipalities and government agencies. The company was founded in 1996 and was wholly owned by its founders, Jim Carlsson, Peter Laurén and Tom Lill, who via their company are now selling the business to Dimension. The three founders, as well as Managing Director Thomas Kilander, will remain with the business and lead Dimension's efforts in directory services. "NetAssist is active in a very interesting area with growing demand," says Sven Uthorn, Managing Director of Dimension. "As more companies try to raise efficiency in their IT environments to save money, directory services become a key factor. NetAssist's focus on directory services is also well-suited to Dimension' efforts in IT security. The acquisition gives Dimension access to competence in an important area, where we previously had fairly limited operations. In the process, we further strengthen our offering in the area of infrastructure." NetAssist will be consolidated in the Dimension Group as of December 1, 2001. The goodwill that arises through the acquisition is estimated at SEK 12 million. The aqcuisition will have a positive effect on Dimension's results from the aqcuisition date.
