Press release, October 16, 2001 Dimension first in Nordic region to offer fault tolerant server solutions on Windows platform The IT integrator Dimension has begun a cooperation with [the U.S.] server technology company Stratus Technologies. Through their agreement, Dimension has become the first and only supplier in the Nordic region to offer solutions based on a fault tolerant server system in the Windows platform. For more than 20 years Stratus Technologies has been a world leader in advanced server technology and fault tolerant systems. This autumn Stratus is introducing its new ftServer series, which is considered the world's most reliable server for Windows 2000 environments. Stratus has selected Dimension as a partner in the Nordic region, as it feels Dimension has the competence and experience in business-critical server solutions necessary to build fault tolerant IT systems. "Stratus ftServer is the first server for Windows 2000 to guarantee continuous availability to business-critical systems," says Donald Swahn, head of Stratus' Nordic and Baltic operations. "Dimension is a professional supplier to companies in telecommunications, banking and finance, and industry where IT systems are a central part of operations. With Dimension, we gain a partner with a strong position in the Nordic region and over a decade of experience in advanced infrastructure solutions." "Dimension's customers place very high demands on availability in their IT infrastructure," says Sven Uthorn, Managing Director of Dimension. "Our experience in business-critical server solutions, in combination with the Stratus ftServer, now gives us the opportunity to also offer fault tolerant systems for Microsoft-based applications, such as Exchange and Active Directory." Dimension and Stratus anticipate major potential in the Nordic market for fault tolerant server systems as Windows environments become more common and IT systems tend to become a business-critical part of the operations of a growing number of companies.
