LED iBond to manufacture smart shelves for new mobile vertical farming solution
LED iBond International A/S (LED iBond) has signed an agreement with UNI-TROLL Europe ApS and TPS Rental Systems Ltd to deliver smart shelves for a patented new load carrier trolley (UT-M2 VF Rack) with vertical farming capabilities during transportation and storage. LED iBond’s shelves feature built-in grow light, a key element of the innovative mobile vertical farming solution designed for growing and maintaining fresh herbs and microgreens.
The three parties to the agreement forecast a volume of up to 10,000 smart shelves during 2022–2025. LED iBond has just received the first order for smart shelves under the agreement.

According to the agreement, UNI-TROLL Europe will produce the new trolley while TPS Rental Systems will take part in the rental, financing, and sale of trolleys in the European market.

UNI-TROLL Europe is a Danish company that has developed a universal shelving trolley solution that fits the ISO standard module size 400x600 mm and is ready for robot handling. The various models of trolleys in the range are designed to be transported directly from the manufacturer to the store, which replaces expensive and environmentally damaging disposable packaging and display solutions.
