Oslo, 27.06.2024 – DLA Piper announces that Camilla Wollan has been appointed Country Managing Partner (CMP) for DLA Piper in Norway starting July 1 2024. Wollan, who is highly ranked in Chambers Europe, will lead the company's Norwegian and Nordic leadership management teams; covering offices in Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Aarhus, and Helsinki, and over 530 lawyers.

The appointment marks the first time a female CMP for DLA Piper in the Nordic region has been appointed. Since joining the firm in 2010, Wollan has been instrumental in establishing DLA Piper as a market leader in financial technology in Norway. She will now be responsible for implementing DLA Piper's growth strategy across all business areas across the region.

Innovative. Dynamic.
Wollan emphasizes that the legal industry needs to become far more innovative and dynamic.

- Several industries and sectors will change in the coming years. The winners will be the law firms that manage this transition. This applies both to how we work as advisors for our clients, how market-oriented we are, and how we work with the organization and competence development among our employees, says Camilla Wollan.

- New technology and fast-growing sectors like hi-tech, fintech, bitcoin and disruptive industries are something that I enjoy working with. At DLA Piper we will have a strong presence in these growing sectors of the future, says Wollan.

- Going forward in the legal service industry, technological development and our ability to utilize it as a force will set the premises for our workdays. That is why we already heavily focus on the use of artificial intelligence. By truly wanting to be at the forefront, we will create value for our clients, says Camilla Wollan.

Ambitions for Further Growth

- It’s great to have Camilla Wollan as our Captain on deck and new Country Managing Partner in Norway. We have clear ambitions for growth in the Norwegian market in the coming years, says Hans Christian Brodtkorb, partner and chairman at DLA Piper Norway. Wollan receives the baton from Kjetil Haare Johansen, who has been the Country Managing Partner at DLA Pipe Norway since 2021. Over the last three years, the company's revenue has grown by more than NOK 100 million, and Johansen has been central to these efforts.

- A strength of DLA Piper is that we create value for our clients by being present with lawyers in more than 90 countries globally. We are a full-service law firm, but our core areas in Norway are corporate, M&A/private equity, litigation, real estate, and construction, says Brodtkorb. Furthermore, we have a clear growth strategy within technology, AI, ESG, environmental, social, and business ethics, where Camilla Wollan has been at the forefront as a lawyer and partner, comments Brodtkorb.

Visibility and market presence will be important
- Camilla Wollan has actively worked with clients in new sectors such as crowdfunding, blockchain technology, virtual currency, and digital assets, as well as with traditional financial services. She also has extensive experience in developing new business models within the traditional part of the financial sector, says Hans Christian Brodtkorb a DLA Piper veteran with 18 years in the firm.

- Now she will contribute to further growth with the entire team at our office at Aker Brygge in Oslo, Brodtkorb adds. Wollan's insight and experience in creating growth in technology and fintech will be central to DLA Piper's direction in the coming years.

Ready for the task as Country Managing Partner
- I am looking forward to rolling up my sleeves and taking on the task as Country Managing partner at DLA Piper Norway, says Wollan. She has worked at DLA Piper for 14 years, handling clients in the financial sector and specializing in financial regulation and technology. Furthermore, Wollan has worked extensively with government regulation within lending, payments, and insurance, including IT systems. In recent years, Wollan has also worked on innovation within housing sharing models and proptech.
