Dollar General gives shoppers head-start on holiday rush with hot deals from Nov. 13 – 15 

GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. (November 10, 2011) – Beat the post-Thanksgiving Day crowds and get a jump-start on checking off your holiday shopping list at Dollar General. Shoppers may take advantage of unbelievable Black Friday prices more than a week before Thanksgiving. Dollar General’s pre-holiday sale runs from Sunday, Nov. 13 to Saturday, Nov. 19, with a limited-time special savings Nov. 13 – 15.  

“By rolling out Black Friday deals a couple of weeks early, we’re hoping to ease some of the anxiety associated with the holiday rush, while helping shoppers save money,” said Todd Vasos, Dollar General’s chief merchandising officer. “With the early specials, customers don’t have to get up before the sun the day after Thanksgiving to get the best deals. They can shop leisurely and get great specials anytime during our pre-Thanksgiving sale.”

Dollar General is helping customers save money on popular electronics during a special pre-holiday sale Nov. 13 – 15 only.  Families can capture memories of the season with an Emerson 12 MP digital camera or 12 MP HD video camera, each only $25.  A Polaroid 4GB MP3 music and video player with 1.5 inch color LCD display, which is perfect for holiday road trips, is only $15.

Customers also will save on Thanksgiving preparation essentials. Shoppers can stock up on baking supplies such as cake, brownie and cookie mixes for only $1. Clover Valley cooking staples such as chicken broth, bread crumbs or canned pumpkin are only $1.
