Dollar General Launches Shopping Weekend with Thanksgiving Day Bargains

Discount retailer will offer three days of bargains Nov. 24 – 26

GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. (November 21, 2011) – Black Friday bargain-hunters will get a head-start on their holiday shopping at Dollar General (NYSE: DG) when the discount retailer activates “Black Friday” bargains on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day. Dollar General is also providing a convenient shopping option for the Thanksgiving weekend. All stores will open at 7 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 24 – Saturday, Nov. 26.

“We’re excited to offer our customers convenience and value this holiday season,” said Todd Vasos, Dollar General’s chief merchandising officer. “We have great bargains to help our customers stretch their dollars during the Thanksgiving holiday. And, bargain hunters will love the easy shopping and early deals on Thanksgiving Day.”

Dollar General will offer one-day only deals to shoppers on Thanksgiving Day. Some of the great bargains include:
