Prizes totalling £100 are up for grabs by Doncaster primary school children in a competition launched by Doncaster Children’s Services Trust this week.

Every child is invited to draw or paint a picture showing what they want to be when they grow up. Then, they simply need to send in their pictures by 25 June and judges will select 10 lucky winners.

Each winner will receive a £10 book token and their artwork could be selected for display at Doncaster Children’s Services Trust venues across Doncaster.

The competition comes after a the Doncaster Children’s Services Trust’s special Celebrating Success event last month highlighted achievements from among more than 140 children it supports.

The Trust’s Head of Referral and Response Anne Chester-Walsh said: “We were dazzled last month by the talents and achievements of so many of our children and we’re now keen to hear about the dreams and aspirations of all young children across the borough.

“Painting or drawing is always fun so we are already excited to see what Doncaster children are hoping to be when they grow up. As our event guest Paralympic skier Mick Brennan said to the children last month – never let anyone tell you that you can’t achieve your dream.”

Children’s pictures should be A4 size, marked on the envelope as ‘PICTURE COMPETITION’, and sent to Chief Executive Paul Moffat at The Blue Building, 38 – 40 High Street, Doncaster, DN1 1DE by 25 June.

Each picture must show the child’s name, their age and the name of their school.
