Employees at Doncaster Children’s Service Trust have chosen Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice as their charity of the year for 2015/16.

The Trust, which provides support to children, young people and families living in Doncaster, wanted to also help raise money for charities that help to support the local community too.

Doncaster Children’s Service Trust Chief Executive Paul Moffat said: “We are really proud to be supporting such a worthy cause that helps so many families from our area, at a time when they need it the most.

“We’ve already kicked started our efforts to raise money for the hospice thanks to Doncaster Rovers Football Club who kindly donated a signed football by Andy Butler to raffle off at our Celebrating Success Awards last month. And we will be planning many more events throughout the year.”

Helen Mower, Head of Fundraising at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, said: “It is fantastic to have the support of Doncaster Children’s Service Trust throughout the next year. We are very grateful and would like to say a huge thank-you.

“Bluebell Wood needs to raise £3m a year and we depend upon such community and corporate support to raise these vital funds. We look forward to working with Doncaster Children’s Service Trust in the coming year.”

Throughout the year the Trust will be raising funds for the charity through a series of events. The money raised will help support the hospice to continue to provide services to support families.

Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice cares and supports 200 children and young people with life limiting conditions and complex medical needs. The charity helps to create special, magical memories for the children and families from across South Yorkshire and beyond.
