KOM-STROM is now officially DONG Energy Germany AG

KOM-STROM AG has now officially been named DONG Energy Germany AG. The registration has been approved by the Handelsregister in Leipzig (March 15, 2010).

KOM-STROM AG has now officially been named DONG Energy Germany AG. The registration has been approved by the Handelsregister in Leipzig (March 15, 2010). In September 2009 DONG Energy acquired the majority share, 83.57 %, of the energy company KOM-STROM situated in Leipzig from Deutsche Essent GmbH. Before the acquisition DONG Energy was represented on the German energy market with its Hamburg based wholesale company DONG Energy Sales GmbH. Now with the name change of KOM-STROM, DONG Energy has one clearly defined brand on the German market. "KOM-STROM is a company with long-term experience in the German energy market. As part of the DONG Energy family it is important for us to communicate our affiliation to the market, and the change of name is an effective means in the accentuation of KOM-STROM’s integration into the entire energy group. That way we are able to show our strength to the market through one strong brand," said Mr. Kurt Bligaard Pedersen, Executive Vice President in DONG Energy. With the acquisition DONG Energy went from having sales office primarily in the Northern part of Germany to also gaining a strong presence in the Southern parts of Germany. Thereby DONG Energy has strengthened its position in the German market, and this opens up new options for offering an even broader scale of products to our customers. Also KOM-STROM’s financial part KOM-FIN changed its name and is now called DONG Energy Financial Solutions GmbH.
