North Sea platform temporarily de-manned
DONG Energy has decided to temporarily shut down production from the Siri platform in the Danish North Sea and to transfer all employees to shore.
The transferring of employees is due to gale warning and consequently high waves expected to reach the Siri platform at night between Monday 12 September and the following day. All employees on the platform will be taken to Esbjerg on the Danish west coast during Monday evening 12 September. The employees are expected to be able to return to the platform during Tuesday 13 September and Wednesday 14 September.
Supplementary safety precautions in connection with cracks in the platforms subsea structure discovered in 2009 is the cause for the temporary stop of production and the de-manning. The cracks have led to a significant repair work being performed at present
