In collaboration with Økolariet Knowledge and Exhibition Centre and the Danish Ministry of Climate and Energy, DONG Energy has developed a truly unique series of exhibitions to be held at Økolariet this year. Named CO2009, the exhibition series opens on Saturday 7 February and can be experienced right through to the Copenhagen climate summit in December.

”We intend for all our guests to get something out of the exhibitions, so we have packaged the information in films and interesting settings. For instance, we have built a full-scale model of a Lotus Super Seven; its steering wheel and gearstick are joysticks that control what is learnt and experienced inside the car. We also have booths spread throughout the exhibitions where children can do energy experiments,” says Økolariet manager Ole Due.

For DONG Energy, the exhibition collaboration at Økolariet helps to communicate energy skills in a way that is both creative and serious.

"At DONG Energy our work is focused on developing new energy solutions. The exhibition at Økolariet is a really good opportunity to tell people about the challenges we are faced with in regard to creating an energy source that provides security of supply and, at the same time, does not pollute,” says Jakob Bøss, head of communications at DONG Energy.

The biggest exhibition in the CO2009 series, opening to the public on Saturday 7 February, is named Your way to clean energy. It provides insights and information about:
• How the sun is the source of all energy on earth
• Climate change and energy consumption
• How we can make better use of the sun’s energy solar panels, wind turbines and biofuels
• What we use energy for in our homes, and how we can do that more wisely in the years to come
• The role of politicians and what is likely to happen in Copenhagen at the climate summit in December, which will be attended by politicians from around the world
• Climate effects on Denmark in 50 and 100 years’ time unless the politicians can agree on a sensible energy plan for the entire world
