DriveSafety Announces the New CDS-250W Clinical Driving Simulator
Advanced new simulator accommodates wheelchair patients who have suffered functional losses.
May 21, 2013, Salt Lake City, Utah – DriveSafety, Inc., a leading provider of advanced driving simulators, today announced the availability of its new high-end CDS-250W Clinical Driving Simulator. The DriveSafety CDS-250W helps therapists in clinical environments assess and rehabilitate both ambulatory as well as wheelchair patients with driving-related issues.

For ambulatory patients or patients who transfer from their wheelchair to their car, the CDS-250W can be used with the car seat module docked with the driver control console. For patients who don’t transfer from their wheelchairs, the CDS-250W car seat module can be easily detached from the driver control console to allow full use of the system from a patient’s wheelchair. The height of the driver control console can then be adjusted electronically to accommodate patients and wheelchairs of varying sizes. The simulator also comes with a full set of interchangeable hand controls, a spinner knob, left foot accelerator pedal and pedal guards.

The CDS-250W provides a total rendered horizontal field of view of 110 degrees through the use of three 19” (diagonal) LCD screens each with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
