Interest in electric cars continues to increase. The eCarExpo electric car show at Friends Arena which was held this weekend was a total success. The audience was as high as 14,650 paying and invited people, which is three times more than the last time the fair was held in Nacka Strand 2016 and about 40% more than at the Swedish Fair in Gothenburg in November last year. The visitors were also satisfied and gave the fair the highest score, 5.9 out of 7.

- Now the interest in electrification of our cars has gone from being a special interest to the nerds, to something that concerns everyone and the whole family. It's fun to experience, and paves the way for us to continue our expansion with eCarExpo across the Nordic region, says Gunnar Dackevall, CEO and founder of eCarExpo.

The growing interest in the transition to an electric car community was also evident in the media. At the fair, 105 journalists and media representatives had accredited themselves, which is almost twice as many as the previous record from the Swedish Fair in Gothenburg.

- The increasingly intensive media coverage reflects the positive attitude changes to electric cars that exist in Stockholm. The thirst for knowledge about new electric cars, different charging technologies and how we need to adapt energy use to a sustainable society is great, and many of the answers could be sought at eCarExpo, says Lars-Ola Nordqvist, Press Manager for eCarExpo.

Among the 77 exhibitors, a majority of the car brands in Sweden were in place with many news and 20's premieres, but also leading charging technology companies and several new innovative start-ups.

Among others were the new Volvo-manufactured Polestar 2, Volkswagen's new electric car ID3, Audi e-tron Sportback, Mazda MX-30, Honda e, the concept car BMW iNext and Harley Davidson's electric powered LiveWire.

The fair also hosted prestigious and well-attended seminars on life with electric cars in Sweden and visitors were able to test 24 different car models on a 600 meter long indoor test track for rechargeable cars.

The exhibitors also had a very rewarding weekend with the many visitors. Here are some voices after eCarExpo:

Martin Jonsson, CEO of DEFA Sweden, one of the leading charging technology companies and main partners at eCarExpo:

“We are extremely pleased and proud of our participation here. We have never experienced such a great, wide and genuine interest in electric mobility in Sweden as we do now. The knowledge of the visitors is increasing, and we are noticing how people really understand and accept that the electrification of the vehicle fleet will fundamentally impact society and people's lives. ”

Petter Nordesjö, CEO of Maxus Transport Cars, a new Chinese car brand in Sweden:

"Crazy! I have been to many car fairs, but never to anyone where we have been able to do business directly on site. Great job! ”

Peter Maier, Public Relations Manager for BMW and Mini:

"We counted 421 test runs over the weekend - the concept of the indoor track was excellent".

Mats Carlström, Key Account Fleet Manager for Kia, which is Sweden's third largest car brand:

"One hour after the fair opened on Saturday, we were fully signed up for test runs - this even broke the record at eCarExpo in Gothenburg".

Carola Larsson, Public Relations Manager for Honda, who premiered the city car Honda e:

"We have had the queue to try new e-mail from the first minute to the last over the weekend - what a success for us and for the fair!"

eCarExpo expands this year to four fairs and will next open in Øksnehallen in Copenhagen April 17-19 and thereafter in Lilleström, Oslo, November 22-24 and at the Swedish Fair in Gothenburg, November 27-29.
