Two weeks on: Submission deadline for the E1|R1 Amateur Photo Award extended to 15.03.2020

International competition for amateur photographers receives entries from almost all 16 countries along the first long-distance cycle path and hiking trail in Europe

Those responsible at Lippe Tourismus und Marketing GmbH (LTM) in Detmold, Germany, have decided to extend the submission deadline by two weeks until 15 March 2020. This extension gives everyone who is still on a hiking or cycling tour on the E1 or R1 the chance to submit motifs. "This is now the last word; however, we do not give more time. Because we want to choose the winners in May at the latest," says Günter Weigel, managing director of LTM.

Exhibitions in Germany and Italy

What‘s new in contrast to the last competition is the number of exhibitions. At least two exhibitions are planned. A potential third one is being considered. Besides the exhibition location Detmold, Germany, there will be a simultaneous exhibition in Abruzzo, Italy. Because the desire to show the exhibition in Italy was very strong at the last competition. What was still spontaneous in 2018 has already been decided this year. Especially as further stages of the E1 will be shown in Italy. The organizer LTM has also decided to select the 10 best motives per country by the jury. These will be shown either in the online gallery or in the exhibitions.

First prize winner receives 3.000 €.

From the four category winners, the E1 I R1 grand prize winner will be determined, who will receive cash or non-cash prizes worth €3,000. The category winners - there are four categories - will each receive 500 €. All prizes can be given as cash or non-cash prizes. So it is worthwhile to search in your own photo archives for exciting shots or to go out and take exciting photos within a 10 km radius of the two long-distance routes. To submit them by 15 March.
