Anders Borg appointed new advisor to East Capital
East Capital has recruited Anders Borg as its new advisor. With his unique experience from leading positions in the global economic system, and expertise in emerging markets, Borg will provide support and advice to East Capital.
Anders Borg will provide advisory services and insights to East Capital’s investment teams, as well as support on strategic issues. He also joins the company’s Advisory Committee where he will take part in the work on analysing the global economic outlook, with focus on macro-economic, political, and social trends that are of major importance for the development in East Capital’s markets.

Anders Borg served as Sweden's Minister for Finance from 2006 to 2014, where he earned wide praise for navigating Sweden through the global financial crisis. In 2011, the Financial Times named Borg Europe's top finance minister. During his time as Minister for Finance, Anders Borg was President of the Ecofin Council and served in the governing institutions of the IMF and the World Bank. He has also chaired World Economic Forum’s initiative on the Global Financial System and has experience from Citi Group, ABN Amro Bank and SEB. Furthermore, he has served as an advisor on monetary policy to the Riksbank and has experience from serving on the Board of Directors in companies such as Kinnevik and Millicom. He is currently serving on the Board of Directors in Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT) and Stena International. Borg is also Senior Advisor to companies such as IPsoft, Kinnevik and MTG.
In the early 1990s, Borg was a political advisor to Prime Minister Carl Bildt. He studied Political Science, Philosophy and Economic History at Uppsala University and Economics at Stockholm University and has been a Senior Fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics.
