EAST CAPITAL GROUP STRENGTHENS BOARDS WITH TWO NEW APPOINTMENTS
East Capital, the leading independent asset manager specialising in Eastern European financial markets, is pleased to announce that it has appointed Alexander Izosimov and Dick Lundqvist as Board members to East Capital AB and East Capital Asset Management AB. The new independent directors join previously appointed Klas Danielsson and Risto Silander.
“We are really pleased to have Alexander Izosimov and Dick Lundqvist joining us as Board members. Their contribution will add further strength to us, particularly in the areas of innovation, entrepreneurship and regulation,” said East Capital’s Chairman Peter Elam Håkansson.
Alexander Izosimov is CEO of VimpelCom Ltd and served as OJSC VimpelCom’s CEO from October 2003 until April 2009. He is Chairman of the Board of GSM Association and serves on the Boards of Directors of Teleopti AB, MTG AB and Dynasty Foundation. Alexander Izosimov also is a member of the Council on Competitiveness and Entrepreneurship in Russia. Prior to joining OJSC VimpelCom, he held senior positions with Mars Inc. and McKinsey & Company.
Dick Lundqvist is a Partner and Chairman at the Stockholm-based law firm Gernandt & Danielsson. He has participated in the establishment of numerous fund management businesses, securities firms and banks. He is also experienced in regulatory issues and has drafted a large number of comments on proposals circulated for consideration within the financial field.
Klas Danielsson joined the Board of East Capital AB in June 2008. Klas Danielsson founded the internet broker Nordnet and was its CEO between 1997 and 2007. He was formerly with UBS in London and Stockholm. Klas is Chairman of the Board of SwedSec AB, Svensk Information AB and his own company Spiderweb Consulting AB and he is a member of the Board of Alternativa Aktiemarknaden AB, Scientia Fund Management AB and The Swedish Consumers Banking Bureau.
Risto Silander joined the Board of East Capital Asset Management AB in January 2006. Risto Silander has worked for 20 years in the investment banking industry and has held senior positions within Svenska Handelsbanken, Goldman Sachs, UBS and Alfred Berg. He currently is a director of the Boards of Swedish Export Credit Corporation AB, Brevan Howard Offshore Management Ltd., Stronghold Invest AB, E Öhman J:or AB, Gamla Livförsäkringsaktiebolaget SEB Trygg Liv (deputy), Trygg Stiftelsen, 11 Real Asset Fund AB and Varenne AB.
