Mia Jurke appointed CEO of East Capital Explorer
The Swedish Investment company East Capital Explorer has appointed Mia Jurke as new CEO. She has solid experience from working in the financial markets, among other things as CEO of East Capital Asset Management.
Mia Jurke joins East Capital Explorer on 15 October. She replaces Gert Tiivas who joins East Capital’s Private Equity investment business in the Baltic countries as soon as the new CEO has taken office, as announced in August.
Peter Elam Håkansson, chairman of East Capital, said: “East Capital is the investment manager of East Capital Explorer. The CEO of Explorer is instrumental in monitoring that we fulfill our job as intended, seeing to meet the best interest of all its shareholders. We are very happy that Mia Jurke has accepted the position of CEO. With his experience from Explorer, Gert Tiivas will be a great addition to our Baltic Private Equity team.”
East Capital Explorer was established to enable its shareholders to draw on East Capital’s expertise as an investor in Eastern Europe, the former Soviet Union and Turkey by buying a share traded on the Stock Exchange. Mia Jurke, brief biography:
Mia, a Swedish national, joined East Capital as Head of Portfolio Administration in 2005 and has after that been Product Manager for East Capital (Lux), East Capital’s Luxembourg based SICAV-funds. Mia has also been CEO of East Capital Asset Management and has been a board member of East Capital (Lux) as well as East Capital Asset Management. She has thirteen years of experience from working in the financial markets. Before joining East Capital she worked at Öhman as responsible for the administrative departments within E. Öhman J:or Kapitalförvaltning AB, offering discretionary asset management and E. Öhman J:or Fonder AB offering investment fund products.
