East Capital and HMC Capital initiate investment research cooperation for Latin America
East Capital, an independent asset manager specialised in emerging and frontier markets, and HMC Capital, a Latin American financial advisory and investment firm, announce the signing of an advisory service agreement. Under the terms of the agreement, HMC Capital provides Latin American investment research to support East Capital’s global emerging markets capabilities, which have been highlighted recently by the launch of the East Capital Sustainable Emerging Markets fund, benchmarked against the MSCI Emerging Market Index, on June 30, 2017.
East Capital and HMC Capital have been working together since 2010 when HMC Capital was appointed to distribute East Capital’s investment products to institutional clients including pension funds and family offices across Latin America. Under the new agreement, the cooperation has been extended to also include investment research with focus on the emerging markets in the region. In its new role, HMC Capital will support East Capital’s investment team and work directly with the team members specialising on Latin America. At HMC Capital, equity research is led by Santiago Arias, Head of Equity, who is supported by a regional team.
