ECG Management Consultants, Inc. Welcomes Paul G. Mandel, Psy.D., to Its Healthcare Information Technology Division

Washington, D.C. – September 15, 2011 – ECG Management Consultants, Inc., one of the nation’s premier healthcare management consulting firms, welcomes Paul G. Mandel, Psy.D., as a Senior Manager within the company’s Healthcare Information Technology (IT) Division. The addition of Dr. Mandel further enhances ECG’s strategic IT capabilities and understanding of the challenges faced across the broader healthcare provider enterprise.

Commenting on this hire, Mr. John C. Whitham, Principal and head of ECG’s Healthcare IT – East practice, said, “Paul brings a wealth of strategic, technical, and financial skills to ECG related to maximizing the impact of technology within healthcare organizations. His experience will enable us to better assist our clients in preparing for strategic challenges such as multi-organization integration, meeting the challenges of healthcare reform, and achieving meaningful use.”

Dr. Mandel will be working on a wide array of projects, including IT strategic plan development, EMR optimization, and data integration efforts related to the further alignment of hospitals and physicians.

Dr. Mandel joins ECG with more than 13 years of consulting and clinical experience. He has been involved in numerous large- and small-scale projects, leading engagements for a range of clients including nationally recognized providers, integrated delivery networks, payors, and government healthcare organizations. Prior to joining ECG, Dr. Mandel led a national healthcare technology insight consulting program.

Dr. Mandel is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute, Inc. (PMI) and is also a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS). He has a master of business administration degree from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a doctor of psychology degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from St. Mary’s College of Maryland.
