Fredrik Lundqvist joins Ecohelix as Lead Engineer
Biotechnology company Ecohelix is strengthening the team by hiring well experienced Fredrik Lundqvist as Lead Engineer. Fredrik has the responsibility in leading the practical engineering work in Ecohelix demo plant expansion and further in full scale plant project.
“It´s really a hands-on work to size, select and put various unit operations together so that the whole plant system is working as it is intended to do. It´s about combining tanks, pumps, valves, pipes and heat exchangers etc. into one well-functioning production plant”, describes Fredrik his work at Ecohelix.
Fredrik has strong background as chemical engineer. He has worked in various project and consultant positions at Swedish Pulp and Paper Research Institute and later at ÅF Consult and Eurocon Engineering in Sweden, Finland, and in South America. The work has been focused on process engineering e.g. in greenfield pulp mill projects, conversions and energy audits etc. In 2015, Fredrik was among three founders of C-Green, a company providing a new climate smart way for handling sewage sludge and was in many ways responsible for building, commissioning, operating and developing a completely new, innovative process for handling watering biological sludge.

Fredrik has great capability of utilizing different methods in formulating the challenge, addressing the questions and creating the framework to put things together. These are crucial skills in our projects”, says Oskar Schmidt, Ecohelix CTO.
Fredrik knows Ecohelix team already earlier and he is excited to join to the company full time right now, when Ecohelix is scaling up and preparing the production to bring first wood-based WOODMER® biopolymers to the market. According to Fredrik, what makes really Ecohelix different is the innovation, which sits in the forefront of sustainability and circular economy and provides a great opportunity to diminish the environmental burden of products we use in our everyday life. But it´s actually not the product that is the main driver. It´s first and foremost the people which makes Ecohelix a unique company. Capable, passionate, innovative and enjoyable people, who are focusing on solving problems and make things happen. Not forgetting to have a really good time while doing it. These are the drivers that made it easy for Fredrik to join to the team.
During his spare time, you can find Fredrik crafting at home (at least occasionally), helping his wife in manure management services in a horse stable, playing “high quality” golf, follow his favourite team Modo Hockey or listening to metal music, Pantera being his absolute favourite band.
