Ecolution: a success story 15 years on
Press release
25th March 2014
Ecolution, one of the leading renewable companies in the UK, is celebrating its 15th anniversary in March 2014. Specialising in solar photovoltaic (PV) and solar thermal installations, the company has recorded successful growth over this period of time, with the turnover projected to exceed £10 million this year, which represents a 30% increase over 2013. The company, based in Addington, Kent, has also invested into an additional warehouse space to support the business expansion.
Ecolution’s Managing Director, Richard Jenkins comments: “This is a fantastic achievement and one which the whole company should be proud of. Back in 1999, Kevin and Andrew Knapp, Ecolution’s founders, had a vision of renewable heat and electricity installations becoming part of the modern building’s fabric. Fifteen years later, despite the tough time the construction and housing sectors have faced, we are going strong, expanding the business in many ways.”
To further support their customers and to provide them with the highest standard of service, well-designed installations and expertly designed, quality products, Ecolution has invested significantly into three group companies:
- Ecolution Installation, the largest installer on new build projects in the UK
- Ecolution Energy services, which will provide monitoring and maintenance services for the renewable systems
- Ecolution Products, which supplies PV products to a broad range of installer customers
The company’s expertise and considerable industry experience has secured partnerships with the leading international manufacturers and developers. Working with Mitsubishi, Ecolution created the first branded PV kit, which provided everything required for the installation of a domestic PV system. Currently the company is working with suppliers such as LG and Hyundai.
“We want to offer our customers only the highest quality of products and services, which relies not only on the partnerships we create, but also on the dedication and skill of our personnel. In the last five years we have more than doubled the number of our staff, growing from 25 employees in 2009 to 60 in 2014. Ecolution considers the development of its staff crucial and provides sales and management training, along with electrical and plumbing qualifications as well as the latest health and safety courses, continues Richard Jenkins.
To accommodate the business expansion, in 2011 Ecolution moved premises from Kemsing to Addington, Kent. “Having established ourselves as one of the leading renewable companies in the UK, we will continue to drive growth throughout 2014 and beyond”, summarized Jenkins.
