Edgar Brothers, the UK’s largest wholesaler of firearms and ammunition, has donated three air rifles to Target Sports For Recovering Disability, a non-profit organisation set up in 2013 dedicated to providing access to target sports for people recovering from poor physical or mental health.

The three air rifles – a Hatsan ATP2, a Hatsan AT44 and the new Hatsan Breaker worth a total of over £1,000 – were put to good use straight away in a 10-week project aimed at building the confidence of people recovering from mental and physical ill health by learning a new skill.

Michael Bell, who runs Target Sports For Recovering Disability, commented: “The three air rifles that Edgar Brothers have donated are a true godsend and have really raised the morale and spirit of our users who could not get them out of the boxes fast enough. It is all too common for people suffering from mental and physical illness to be turned away from fieldsports and we have proven that anyone can love and enjoy target sports when given the opportunity to do so. I would like to pass on the thanks and gratitude from all of us to everyone at Edgar Brothers for their support and generosity.”

Derek Edgar, Managing Director of Edgar Brother, added: “We are extremely pleased to have been able to donate the air rifles to such a superb cause. Shooting sports have been proven to be good for wellbeing and it is clear that the important work Target Sports for Recovering Disability does is not only enormously worthwhile but extremely well received.”
