Edge Entertainment secures opening film from the Stockholm International Film Festival.

Edge Entertainment has just acquired Jonas Carpignano’s debut film Mediterranea, which also was awarded three prizes at the Stockholm Film Festival.

Mediterranea (international sales NDM) by Jonas Carpignano opened the Stockholm Film Festival earlier this month. Mediterranea was awarded three prizes at the festivals Awards ceremony on Friday: Best Actor Koudous Seihon, Best First Film and the Telia Film Award.  Mediterranea will have its Swedish premiere January 29 2016.

Edge Entertainment has acquired Mediterranea for Sweden, Finland, Iceland and the Baltics.

Edge Entertainment also acquired The Wait (international sales Pathé) directed by Pierro Messina, starring Juliette Binoche for Scandinavia and Iceland. The Wait had its world premier at the Venice Film Festival and comes from the producers behind The Grand Beauty and Youth.

Edges titles The Wolfpack, Maryland, Bolshoi Babylon, Palio and Valley of Love also screened at the Stockholm Film Festival and will have Swedish premiere winter 2015/2016.
