School Fundraising Mobile Application and Innovative Education-Focused Non-profit Partner to Provide Resources for Students and Teachers

(LOS ANGELES, CA – April 5, 2011) – edRover, the first location-based mobile application for school fundraising, has partnered with ClassWish.org, an innovative nonprofit organization where parents, educators and local communities easily create wish lists of the materials they need.

Parents, students and educators know that budget cuts across the U.S. have left schools devastated. Now, by simply using their cell phones to shop online or when visiting their favorite retail, dining and entertainment sites, consumers will be able to earn funds for the school supplies that teachers need for their students to succeed.

edRover makes it simple: download the edRover mobile app for free from the iTunes App Store. (Now available in beta.) Each time a consumer uses the edRover app to make purchases from participating retailers’ mobile commerce sites or checks into sponsored community locations, funds are allocated to provide supplies for the classroom or youth organization of the consumer’s choice. Consumers are able to direct the funds generated by their activities to specific wish lists created by teachers or school leaders on ClassWish.org. ClassWish then sends these much-needed items straight to the school.

“The partnership between edRover and ClassWish.org is an exciting opportunity to use the latest business and social media tools to improve schools for all our children,” said Tania Mulry, edRover’s founder and CEO.

Parents, friends, businesses and others in the community may also make tax-deductible donations directly to ClassWish.org. Businesses interested in being listed in edRover may sponsor check-ins to their own locations or community sites like schools, museums, libraries, parks and other landmarks by making a financial contribution to edRover.

“ClassWish.org makes it simple and efficient for schools and teachers to inspire, engage and attract funding from supporters in the community,” said Robert Tolmach, CEO of WellGood Classrooms and co-creator of ClassWish.org. “We’re delighted to partner with edRover and offer parents and other supporters yet another easy way to earn funds to help their favorite classrooms.”

Both Mulry and Tolmach will be actively involved in one another’s organizations as advisory board members.
