Effnet Teams With University of Arizona for Research of Internet Protocol Packet Processing for IPv6 IP Packet Processing Expert Supports Networking Studies MOUNTAIN VIEW, California - 5 April 2001 - Effnet, Inc., a leading provider of efficient networking technology, announced sponsorship of a research project with the University of Arizona Computer Science Department. A key topic will be advanced research and development of high-performance Internet Protocol (IP) forwarding and firewalling for IPv6. Effnet is taking an active role in the research with Stephen Pink, a company Co-Founder and CTO, leading the project along with Mikael Degermark, also a Co-Founder. Both Pink and Degermark are members of the University of Arizona faculty as Associate Professor and Assistant Professor, respectively. "Effnet's origins arose from a university environment in Sweden, and as Effnet expands its US reach, a research project with the University of Arizona was a natural choice to renew the original spirit of the company," said Stephen Pink. "We are devoted to continued advancement and hope to fuel further enthusiasm by sharing our knowledge with the academic community." "Effnet hopes to realize successes with the University of Arizona similar to our achievements at Luleå University," said Tony Svensson, CEO of Effnet. "Effnet is an expert in fast IP forwarding and filtering for Internet communication and we are optimistic that the collaborative research will foster further progress for both the university and Effnet."
