From May 1st 2010 ege takes over 51% of Bentzon Carpets, who is known for their exclusive flat woven carpets. It is one of the most well operated businesses in the industry and a great match to ege.

Bentzon Carpets, a Danish company placed in Røjle near Middelfart, was founded in 1976 and manufactures flat woven carpets for the contract and domestic market. “Bentzon Carpets and ege have worked closely together since 2001 on development and production of flat woven carpets that enjoy great popularity in many European countries”, CEO of ege Svend Aage Færch Nielsen explains. “The majority takeover is a natural step that will create a basis for an even closer co-operation in the future. Bentzon Carpets has a technological platform at their disposal, which supplements ege’s advanced technology, and we expect this will create great synergy in both companies”. The investment is also the beginning of a generational handover at Bentzon Carpets, of which ege will become an active part. However, it is important to underline, that Bentzon Carpets continues with the current three business managers Hans Bentzon, John Bentzon and Tage Bajlum. “Despite the takeover it is not the intention to make Bentzon Carpets consistent with ege. It is an independent company with 30 skilled and competent employees and its own company culture. It is our wish to continue that way in the future”, Svend Aage Færch Nielsen explains. Bentzon Carpets continues their independence by focusing on the products, markets and clients that have been its business foundation through the last 9 years. It is a well functioning company ege enters into, and that affects the expectations for the future. “We believe that the majority takeover will strengthen both Bentzon Carpets and ege. Bentzon Carpets gains the opportunity of drawing on a broad range of ege’s facilities and competences, and ege gains a broader business foundation”, Svend Aage Færch Nielsen tells. ege is going to take over the remaining 49% of the share in Bentzon Carpets no later than May 1st 2020. By then ege, who is among the leading carpet manufacturers in Europe, will consist of four Danish factories in Herning, Gram, Vejle and Røjle, respectively. That brings a big smile to Svend Aage Færch Nielsens’s face. “We are truly happy with this development and look forward to the future together with Bentzon Carpets”.
