A toy projector for children that enlarges drawings of Disney figures is the inspiration behind a new technique at ege, making it possible to deliver Soft Dreams rugs in any shape. The recipe is simple, the result unique and the price is the same!
From “Any size” to “Any shape” By the means of a completely new production technique at ege, anyone can hand in a sketch with the outline of a rug and get it produced in exactly the shape they want. The technique is called “Any shape” and is well suited for the Soft Dreams collection, which already comes in individual sizes. The soft and personal rugs from Soft Dreams are a huge hit in interior design, where unlimited possibilities of shape and size provide total freedom to tailor the rugs according to personal needs and wishes. ege’s Director Mads Lindegaard is thrilled with the new development.”The technique brings some interesting opportunities. Rugs can have the same shape as the pattern on the wall paper. Baby sister can draw the shape of her own rug to the playroom, and the company’s logo can be reflected in the shape of the rug”. The new technique is also welcomed in the production. Production manager Aksel Heltoft is smiling, as he demonstrates the constellation that makes it all possible. “The process is so simple that we can cut the rugs at almost the same time and at exactly the same price as with rectangular and round Soft Dreams rugs. The only requirement for the drawing we receive is an accurate dimension point along and across the rug. The dimensions ensure that the rug gets exactly the right size when the drawing is projected on the rug before cutting”. Lasting solutions The Soft Dreams collection has just been updated with 7 new beautiful colours. Designer Mette Kofoed Nielsen is behind the new colours. “Right now people are looking for lasting solutions, and this has influenced my choice of new colours for Soft Dreams. My aim has been to create colours with an exclusive expression, which will pep up or add the last part of a unique expression to the home”, she explains. “The pile construction and the play of colours give a soft, lively and sparkling expression that makes you want to touch the rugs”. With the recent colour update the Soft Dreams collection consists of 21 colours covering from dense and elegant to bright and strong colours. The rugs are produced in 100% polyamide with high wear resistance that ensures a beautiful rug for a long time. Furthermore, the rugs are permanently antistatic, as well as tested and approved in accordance with Danish Indoor Climate Labelling. Soft Dreams – Any shape provides unlimited opportunities to create beautiful, long lasting rug solutions.
