Influential Ag Innovation Showcase for companies and investors will be held Sept. 10-12, 2012, at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS (April 18, 2012) – Ag Innovation Showcase, one of the most influential forums about agricultural technology in the U.S., will be held Sept. 10-12, 2012, at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center in St. Louis.

The event, which has grown in stature each year since it was established in 2009, has distinguished itself as the premier event connecting venture capitalists and corporate strategics who benefit from information gained from speakers, panelists and presentations about cutting-edge ideas and industry trends in the agricultural technology space.

The world-class Showcase provides an international gathering of ag industry leaders, emerging innovators and investors to facilitate dialog and deal-flow in ag-bio, renewable energy, sustainable materials, food production, animal health and farming technologies.

“Agricultural innovation is one of the most important cultural, economic and business issues facing the global community,” said Sam Fiorello, COO Donald Danforth Plant Science Center & President of BRDG Park. “The Ag Innovation Showcase mirrors the growing interest in the space with increases in attendance, media interest and deals being conducted by investors and corporate strategics.”

In fact, at the Showcase, 95% of companies that presented found potential partners and 73% found potential investors.  These companies went on to raise more than $26.1 million in investment after the Showcase.

“Presenting at the Ag Innovation Showcase has been a path to success for many agricultural technology companies,” said Rohit Shukla, CEO and Founder of Larta Institute.

The three-day program will enable participants to:

  • Network with top ag investors and corporate executives to spawn strategic deals, partnership opportunities and collaborative business ventures.
  • Discover young ag companies pushing the boundaries of innovation in search of solutions to the most pressing issues of the industry.
  • Identify new industry ideas and trends through insightful panels, distinguished keynote speakers, and engaging presentations.

This year, the welcome reception will be held at the Missouri Botanical Garden, a world renowned center for botanical research and science education.

The Ag Innovation Showcase is a joint effort of the Bio-Research and Development Growth (BRDG) Park at Danforth Plant Science Center in St. Louis and Larta Institute. For more information or to register, visit http://agshowcase.com.
