PLANET CAZMO ANNOUNCES HAPPY GIANT SECURES FUNDING
New Publishing Division To Focus on Free-To-Play, Transmedia Models
Planet Cazmo, a leading creator of free-to-play online multiplayer and social gaming experiences, founded by veterans of LucasArts and Pileated Pictures, today announced it had secured a round of funding led by investor Michael Vlock, who manages the Pritzker/Vlock Family Office portfolio.
The investment coincides with the launch of Planet Cazmo’s new division, Happy Giant, which will develop and publish original and licensed content with an emphasis on cross-platform experiences for a variety of digital platforms such as iOS/Android smartphones and tablets.
“HappyGiant is set to take advantage of cross-platform social gaming in and new and exciting ways,” said Michael Levine, CEO. “Free-to-play gaming is taking off on many new platforms and we plan to develop new original brands, as well as continuing to use our experience partnering with major brands and licenses.”
The company was the first to launch virtual concerts on Facebook as streaming live music events and recently launched a new HTML5 Mobile game “Cazmo Monster Battles” in conjunction with partner Mocoscape
