Electrolux acquires diamond tool manufacturer JKS Lamage

Electrolux acquires diamond tool manufacturer JKS Lamage Dimas, a part of the Electrolux Group, has acquired JKS Lamage from Atlas Copco. JKS Lamage is a Canadian manufacturer and distributor of diamond tools for the construction and stone business. JKS Lamage, located in North Bay, Ontario, Canada, currently employs 30 people. In 1999 sales were approximately CAD 8 million. The company will be an integral part of Dimas' diamond tool and equipment business. "The acquisition of JKS Lamage will give Dimas access to the Canadian market with local manufacturing, service and sales organization," says CEO of Electrolux Professional Outdoor Products, Bengt Andersson. "The acquisition is one further step in Dimas' development towards a position as a global provider of diamond tools and related equipment." Dimas has a wide range of diamond tools and equipment for cutting, grooving, and drilling hard materials such as concrete, stone, and asphalt. Dimas, with headquarters in Jönköping, Sweden, is represented around the world by subsidiaries and partners who primarily sell directly to construction contractors. Electrolux is the world's largest producer of powered appliances for kitchen, cleaning and outdoor use, such as refrigerators, washing machines, cookers, vacuum cleaners, chain saws, lawn mowers, and garden tractors.
