Electrolux has been included in the prestigious Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) for 2013, maintaining its position as Industry Leader in the Household Durables category for the seventh consecutive year*. In this annual assessment, published by RobecoSAM, Electrolux was also included in DJSI Europe.

“Sustainability has high priority for many of Electrolux’ stakeholders. Our continued position as a leader in DJSI shows we have an effective strategy to address these issues, which is grounded in sound business logic and helps us make a positive difference for people and the planet,” said Henrik Sundström, Head of Sustainability Affairs at Electrolux.

Electrolux earlier this year conducted consumer research in six countries, to measure sustainability priorities, how they rate these issues in the context of appliance purchases and their perception of Electrolux. The study shows that two thirds of consumers consider the environmental impact of an appliance to be important when making a purchase decision. DJSI World includes the 10% best-in-class economic, environmental and social performers among the world’s 2,500 largest companies. Electrolux is the only company in the Household Durables category to qualify for DJSI World, where it has been included every year since the index was launched in 1999. The Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes enable investors to integrate sustainability considerations into their portfolios while providing an effective engagement platform for encouraging companies to adopt sustainable best practices.
