New head of Environmental Affairs for the Electrolux Group

New head of Environmental Affairs for the Electrolux Group Henrik Sundström has been appointed new head of Group Environmental Affairs for the Electrolux Group. Sundström, 45, who currently holds a similar position with the largest business sector, Electrolux Home Products Europe, will assume his new position on June 1st. Previously, he has worked as R&D manager within the refrigeration and freezers operations. During the past year, the environmental organization has been developed, and operational responsibility now lies within the business sectors. At the Group level, Environmental Affairs focuses on the development of guidelines, communication, co-ordination, environmental management, and on creating useful tools for environmental work and education. Environmental Affairs consists of, except for Sundström, Fatima Boukari, Communications manager, and Peter Fälth, responsible for implementation of environmental management systems. Electrolux is the world's largest producer of powered appliances for kitchen, cleaning and outdoor use, such as refrigerators, washing machines, cookers, vacuum cleaners, chain saws, lawn mowers, and garden tractors. In 1999, Group sales were SEK 120 billion and the Group had 93,000 employees. Every year, customers in more than 150 countries buy more than 55 million Electrolux Group products for both consumer and professional use.
