PRESS RELEASE Stockholm, September 26, 2005 Elekta has named James P. Hoey as president and CEO of IMPAC Medical Systems, Inc., part of the Elekta Group and a leading provider of information technology solutions for oncology care. Mr. Hoey is one of three original founders of IMPAC, and has been integral in operation management of the company since 1990, most recently serving as IMPAC chief operating officer. Mr. Hoey was instrumental in developing IMPAC into the leading supplier of image and data management software for cancer therapy.

Joseph K. Jachinowski, former president and CEO of IMPAC, has been appointed as the executive vice president of product creation for the entire Elekta Group. Mr. Jachinowski’s responsibilities include product development and product management of all Elekta product lines, including Elekta Synergy®, Leksell Gamma Knife® and Elekta Neuromag® as well as IMPAC's product portfolio. Mr. Jachinowski, one of IMPAC’s original founders, has extensive experience in product creation and eagerly accepted the challenge of the new position. The new organization will facilitate the Elekta Group’s efforts to realize the inherent synergies between the two companies. “IMPAC’s continued mission is to provide the best oncology information management system for our customers,” stated Mr. Hoey.
